The dress Springsteen Way
Timelessness. That’s what simulation of Springsteen’s style is both easy and rewarding. After all, jeans, a tee and a bad-ass bomber ever really losing their shine? We were particularly struck by an image of Springsteen dressed in a buffalo check button-down. It is a pattern that certainly summons the 70s, but also works for our time – especially in the period between winter and spring. He wore the shirt tucked in, that’s something we never expected this laid-back, gritty guy. The collar, however, is what really caught our eyes. It was popped. Not in a stiff, Hamptons-like way, but in a retro, relaxed, my collar-has-it-all-on-his-own way. The shirt gets some support from the stronger popped collar in a waist-length leather jacket, faux shearling-lined or maybe a one in denim. It is the combination of the two that really reminiscent of early Springsteen, we recently discovered.
